Fromm’s P327 is one such tool that uses the lithium-ion battery and is a combination strapping tool.

The P327 has a reinforced 18V motor that can strap 450 cycles per battery charge. The technology used in the Lithium-ion battery ensures battery protection and has a high tension force with adjustable tension speed. The P327 can be pre-set for 5/8’’ or ¾” and thick or thin banding depending on the application. It has an average seal strength of 75%. The P327 comes with two lithium-ion batteries and a charger. This tool’s counterpart is the P330 which does the same operation but accepts ¾” to 1” poly strapping.

Operating the P327 is very easy. When the battery is in full charge and locked in position, the tension and weld time can be adjusted using the two buttons provided. With the tension button one can choose the desired tension and then adjust before application by rotating to the left or right. The weld pin on the other hand can be set by pressing the black lever in order to lift the gripper foot and guide pin. The strap is then inserted under the gripper foot. The guide pin is then secured at the back of the tool to keep the banding in place.

To control seal application, the yellow lever should be pressed. Once everything is set, the green light on the tool comes on and it is safe to remove the tool and the straps get securely sealed. According to users the P327 is very durable and safe to use. It does not break down. However, they feel that the wear parts are difficult to acquire.
